A 12-yr old boy leaves his Grandmother and goes to work the land with men.  During their labor they are disturbed by the voices of interlopers.  The boy is sent to find out more and discovers the old woman is conjuring spirits of the dead into the forest.  Though he is bound to silence, she eventually relents and conveys a message through the boy’s dead father that he should always remember and love the dead, that way they will stay alive for him.
